I'm not asking these questions from the vantage point of a happily married life flaunting my sexy marriage & telling kingdom singles how you can have my success story. NOPE. I'm asking you because I'm kingdom, I'm single, and I know the wait & pain of singleness. I'm well acquainted with the peaks & valleys of long obedience. I've read a dozen books authored by marrieds about how to live a fulfilling single life... and I repent of my eye rolls.
When the lockdown pushed us all into isolation & distance, I sensed a state of emergency among Kingdom Singles. Many of us live alone. Not just alone physically, but alone in capacity.
True love waits is a beautiful truth when you're 12, but when you're over 30 it's irresponsible. No full-grown adult waits for a job, or waits for a diploma, or waits for an achievement. We plan, we prepare, we invest & we follow a process to arrive at an expected end.
Sadly, I feel many Kingdom singles are following a worldly process peppered with Christianese. There are apps to meet casually, apps to meet farmers, apps to meet on video or speed date. There's winking, poking, swiping, and if you don't hit the jackpot before another on-again off-again season with apps, you might be exhausted & disheartened that people are not who they say they are- online & in-person.
